What a joy it is to capture the Lord's beautiful handiwork with a photo! Unfortunately most of the time I find myself looking at my photos and thinking, 'that does not look anything like the actual moment!' It is quite a process to start to manipulate your camera in a way that starts to do justice to the profound events we desire to capture in a picture. For a novice like myself a digital camera goes a long way in bridging the gap and a little inspiration from the documentary on Ansel Adams helps as well.
The Lemons are just starting their journey of photography thanks to a wedding gift from the Olson aunts and uncles on Jenelle's side. It has brought us more delight than we could have ever expected! We appreciate your feedback and tips as we share some of our attemps at this newly discovered craft.

Jenelle,

Hey, why does everyone assume that Jen is taking all these great shots!!! ;)
....Okay, I admit, she is the better artist!
ah!! wisteria! makes me! overjoyed!
I like the way you phrase one of the difficulties with a photo. Truly it must be a great thing to know how to control a camera to bring out the image one has in eye (or rather, in mind). I do enjoy photography but I am not technically very proficient so can't offer much advice there. Experimenting is how I do my thing. However, Dana Sanders has begun a neat community in simplephotolife , and there's a forum that may be of interest to you or any photo dabblers out there.
Also, many outstanding photographers are making great use of flickr for storage, commentary and exposure. I use it mostly for sharing images with friends and family (which is why my favorite my photos are "private"). Email me if you'd like to see them!
And I especially rejoice to now catch this post about photography after having seen the images of Jordan and Josiah. Amazing. Thank you for sharing!
Humbling to know how expansive the beauty must be outside of the picture frame!
Bless you FOUR!
Cam, I've just added you as a contact (ie. "friend") on flickr, so you'll be able to see more! :)
