Apples and Things

This morning we woke up early to enjoy an annual Lemons tradition; Celebrating fall with a cup of hot cider and an apple donut at Russel Orchards in Ipswich, MA. The farm is a traditional New England homestead with farm animals, a country store and hay rides out to pick your own apples in their orchards.

Josiah remembered how to say "duck!" from his time with grandpa in CA; It was adorable. He loved all the chickens, rabbits, sheep and tractors. (Any large machine that makes a lot of noise overwhelms him with delight:) He was not as impressed with Big boy- the 800lb pig- as I was!

The morning was filled with laughter and praise as we enjoyed the beautiful country atmosphere, sipped our warm, sweet cider and watched our son run in circles with enough stimus to wear him out in just an hour. Jen's favorite part was showing Josiah how to pick apples. As she demonstrated how to pull an apple from the tree Josiah dived forward and took a big bite out of her apple! He then proceded to eat half the apple with the juice running down his chin all by himself! What a pure sight to see a boy with his freshly picked apple. Praise God!

I also grew up going to an apple farm with my family! We would also have cider and pick a large bag full of apples. They always tasted SO good. What fun memories =)
