Happy New Year, Happy Birthdays, Happy Hiking and... an "Experience"

Finally the Lemons post a 2008 Blog! Brace yourselves, its a long one! As you can see, we rang the new year in with many of our friends and famliy, playing games until the wee small hours of the morning. One of our new favorite games is demonstrated below by our dear friend Tricia. It is a video game called "Eye toy" and it has no controllers- you are actually in the screen (via web cam). Gregg and Bird, this is the game we talked about for years but never had a playstation to play it with (or television for that matter :) As you can see it is a good workout, and fun to watch others play. Tricia is battling for the boxing championship below.

We were fourtunate to have Tricia out here for her Birthday. This is her meditating over her birthday wish :)' With Grandma in the background (probably thinking it is treacherous to have those candles burning so long).

Also in the past weeks we went on a hike with our friends Allison and Bret Baughman. Afterwards we had a big dinner over at our house with the Baughmans, and the Roberts (Laura and Brandon and their 4 boys... all under the age of 5!)

We did dinner and then sang worship into the night with Cameron's uncle Chuck leading us all.

Watch this video to see all the little guys jammin:

And lastly a fun update about our church. Cameron had quite and eventful weekend. Friday night we had a Lock-in with the high school and middle school students (read: no one slept and everyone had a good time). The theme was "Preparing a Way for the Lord." We first had a time of preparation of the student's hearts (times of prayer, psalm writing and sharing etc.) and then we had a time of preparing a physical place for the Lord- ie. revamping the community center to be a youth room. The students assembled tables and chairs, created bulletin boards and painted canvas' to decorate. Below you can see how the paintings turned out. You can't see it well, but a gold strip unites the smaller canvas' to form a cross.

Sunday was Youth Sunday and Pastor Wells asked Cameron to preach at all three services. It looks like we will now be having a "Youth Sunday" once a month where Cameron will share the word and the students will get to participate in leading worship and shairng their testimonies and talents (dramas and dances).
Then on Wed. we kicked off "The Experience". Mountian View's Community's mid-week youth service. Victor Marx came to speak (you've got to google this guy!) who has more black belts then I have fingers. And the student had a great time watching his moves and hearing his Powerful testimony. What a January!

Happy New Year! We're still awaiting Cameron's first sermon at that church. Must've been a good one if they're asking him to preach once a month now! It sounds like things are going well with the youth. Praise the Lord! We love you guys =)
